Role Overview

Parsons is looking for an accomplished Senior Planner to take charge of building, maintaining, and coordinating complex project schedules. This role supports major infrastructure programs and requires strong technical leadership across the full project lifecycle. The position also involves guiding junior team members, working closely with senior leadership, and helping keep schedules, risks, and execution plans on track.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage fully integrated master project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6, with careful attention to logic, sequencing, and constraints.
• Carry out advanced critical path reviews and forensic delay assessments to spot schedule risks and propose recovery actions.
• Work with cost engineering and project management teams to ensure schedules are resource-loaded, tied to budget milestones, and aligned with Earned Value Management indicators.
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary engineering groups to run planning sessions and secure alignment on key milestones.
• Perform quantitative schedule risk analysis to identify threats to delivery and support the creation of mitigation plans.
• Prepare executive-level summaries, dashboards, and monthly progress updates covering schedule variance, productivity patterns, and performance metrics.
• Use civil engineering knowledge to assess drawings and specifications so that construction sequencing is practical and efficient.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or another relevant technical discipline from an accredited institution.
• At least 15 years of progressive experience in planning and scheduling for major construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong command of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project; experience with Tilos or Acumen Fuse is an advantage.
• Solid understanding of construction methods, CPM scheduling, and resource leveling.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex schedule data to non-technical audiences.
• Professional certifications such as PMP or PSP are preferred.
• Ability to juggle several urgent priorities in a demanding, fast-moving setting.
• Sharp analytical thinking and strong problem-solving ability.
• Leadership capability to coach junior planners and build accountability within the team.
