Role overview
Priority Childcare Ltd is looking for a Support Worker to join the team at Forestry House, a recently modernised five-bedroom residential service close to Neath. The home is in a rural setting and offers a comfortable, updated environment for both residents and colleagues.
The service supports adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs, with the aim of helping each person live as independently and meaningfully as possible. This post is suited to a confident driver who wants to make a positive difference in a rewarding care role.
This is a full-time position of 39 hours per week. Working patterns include days, evenings, nights, weekends, waking nights and sleep nights. A full UK driving licence is essential.
Pay is advertised at £13.45 to £13.75 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Sleep-ins are paid separately at £57 per night.
What you will do
- Help adults with everyday living so they can maintain their emotional, physical and social wellbeing.
- Provide transport for appointments, activities and trips into the community.
- Create respectful, trusting relationships with the people you support.
- Encourage greater independence and the development of practical life skills.
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to deliver high-quality, person-centred support.
- Keep accurate daily notes and other necessary records.
- Support with cooking, cleaning and general household duties.
What the employer is seeking
The role is open to someone who is caring, dependable and comfortable driving as part of everyday support work. Previous experience is not required, as full training will be provided.
You will need to be flexible enough to follow a rota that includes weekends and waking nights, and you should be willing to learn and grow within the role. Because this work involves regulated activity with adults, an Enhanced DBS check with barred list screening is required.
Pay and benefits
- Hourly pay of £13.45 to £13.75, based on qualifications and experience.
- Sleep-in shifts paid at £57 per night.
- Blue Light Card discounts.
- Refer-a-friend bonus of up to £1,000.
- Opportunities to progress within the organisation.
- Fully funded training and qualifications.
- Health plan available after probation.
