About the internship

This role sits within a company focused on AI-based telecalling solutions, building voice agents that sound natural for use cases such as insurance, real estate, and HR.

What you will do

• Connect and validate new ASR, LLM, and TTS provider APIs inside the voice workflow.
• Improve turn-taking behaviour so the system can detect when a caller has finished and reply in a natural way.
• Work with live audio delivery, including WebSocket-driven STT and TTS streams.
• Support prompt design, language identification, and handling of conversations across multiple languages.
• Troubleshoot tricky call-flow issues such as barge-in, silence detection, voicemail recognition, and fallback routing.
• Create scripts and internal tools to measure pipeline performance, including latency, accuracy, and turn-completion success.

Stipend and additional details

The internship offers a monthly stipend of INR 10,000 to 20,000.

There are 4 openings available, and the internship is scheduled to start immediately.

Stipend structure: Fixed pay of ₹5,000 to ₹10,000 per month plus incentive pay of ₹5,000 to ₹10,000 per month.

Conversion opportunity: If the intern is successfully hired full time later, the expected salary range is ₹350,000 to ₹700,000 per year.

What you will learn

• How a production-ready AI voice agent works end to end, from audio capture to ASR, LLM, TTS, and back to audio.
• Real-time streaming concepts using WebSockets and audio formats such as PCM, µ-law, and WAV.
• Working with LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, and Groq, along with prompt planning.
• Backend development using Node.js and TypeScript in a real SaaS environment.
• Telephony fundamentals, including how tools like Twilio and Plivo are used to manage voice calls programmatically.
