Role overview
Dornan Engineering Group is a major international engineering contractor known for delivering complex, high-value projects across Europe, the UK, and Ireland. In Cork, this role sits within the growing Business Development team and offers the chance to help drive tendering activity and support the company’s pursuit of new work.
Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the Bid Coordinator will take ownership of tender coordination, bid document management, and CRM accuracy. The position suits someone who is highly organised, communicates well, and is comfortable juggling several priorities while contributing to successful business wins.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end coordination of PQQs and tender responses, keeping all submissions on schedule.
- Partner with internal teams to collect, organise, and refine strong bid content.
- Create, format, and maintain polished tender packs, bid libraries, and client-facing documents.
- Ensure every submission reflects the company’s branding and quality expectations.
- Keep CRM records accurate for clients, opportunities, and projects, and track updates across the sales pipeline.
- Prepare reports and business insights that support commercial decisions and business development activity.
- Help identify, monitor, and progress new opportunities while supporting client engagement and market intelligence gathering.
- Arrange bid review meetings, coordinate input from stakeholders, and maintain disciplined document control.
- Support ongoing improvements to bid processes and make sure compliance documents remain current.
Requirements
- Background in bid coordination, proposal support, sales support, or a closely related role.
- Strong organisational ability, solid administrative skills, and a sharp eye for detail.
- Confidence in managing several deadlines at once in a busy, fast-moving environment.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, plus design software; experience with CRM platforms like Salesforce, HubSpot, or Microsoft Dynamics is an advantage.
- Exposure to construction, engineering, MEP, or a similar sector is preferred, along with knowledge of tendering and procurement workflows.
- Experience preparing PQQs, bid documents, client proposals, or using tender portals.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong people skills and confidence engaging stakeholders at different levels.
- A positive, flexible, and practical approach to problem-solving.
