Role overview
This opportunity is with a leading Data and BI provider known for strong momentum in the Data and AI technology market. The company offers both packaged and tailored solutions that help organisations make smarter decisions across areas such as risk assessment, lending suitability, identity verification, and fraud detection. By drawing on both internal and external data, its products support better customer experience and stronger business confidence.
The business is looking for a Business Development Manager to join its high-performing Melbourne sales team. The focus of the role is to build trusted relationships, manage an established portfolio of tier 2 corporate accounts, and drive revenue across a wide range of products and services.
Compensation
The package on offer includes a base salary of $120,000 plus superannuation and commission, with on-target earnings of $180,000.
Responsibilities
- Increase revenue by protecting existing business, renewing accounts, and expanding wallet share through cross-sell and upsell activity.
- Use an insight-led approach to uncover customer challenges and commercial pain points.
- Evaluate new market opportunities and growth potential within the territory.
- Deliver against sales targets and performance goals.
- Manage the assigned territory efficiently and strategically.
- Represent the organisation at relevant industry events and external forums.
- Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders at different levels.
- Create and maintain strategic account plans to support long-term growth.
- Handle commercial and legal negotiations relating to RFIs, RFPs, and RFTs.
Requirements
- Demonstrated success in a solutions-led B2B SaaS sales environment.
- Strong background in new business generation and account growth through cold calling, prospecting, upselling, and cross-selling.
- A structured sales methodology supported by formal sales training.
- Ability to manage short and extended sales cycles effectively.
- Experience presenting and selling to CxO-level stakeholders and business decision-makers.
- Strong presence, resilience, and persistence.

This is a full-time onsite position based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
The role sits within a mid-market account base.
