Cardiovascular Technologist

Role overview

AMAN HOSPITAL is seeking a full-time Cardiovascular Technologist to support diagnostic and interventional cardiac care in Doha. In this role, you will carry out cardiac diagnostic examinations, assist physicians during procedures, and help deliver accurate data for the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease. The position is grounded in a competency-based practice model that combines technical expertise with professional behavior.

The role calls for a strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology, along with careful attention to imaging accuracy, positioning, exposure technique, radiation protection, and overall safety.

Key duties

• Prepare patients for procedures, clearly explain what will happen, and help them remain comfortable throughout the process.
• Observe patients during examinations and follow safety protocols to limit unnecessary radiation exposure.
• Apply radiation protection practices and use the necessary shielding and safety equipment for patients and staff.
• Protect patient confidentiality and safeguard written, spoken, and electronic medical information.
• Coordinate the day’s procedure schedule, including urgent cases, and keep track of Cath Lab inventory and supplies.
• Handle routine administrative support such as answering technical queries, assisting with appointment scheduling, and giving pre-procedure guidance.
• Check that cardiovascular equipment is functioning properly and escalate any faults to the supervisor.
• Clean equipment in line with the facility’s infection prevention and control standards.
• Set up, calibrate, and operate imaging and related medical equipment.
• Support physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Carry out therapeutic and interventional procedures to collect valid data and help manage cardiac conditions while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
• Summarize findings for the physician to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Record, measure, acquire, and archive procedure data and images.
• Document physiological readings, troubleshoot technical issues, and note any changes observed during monitoring.
• Obtain and verify IV or arterial access under medical supervision.
• Remove arterial sheaths and apply compression dressings as directed.

Qualifications and licensure

Candidates must hold a professional practice license from the country where they graduated, a MOPH license in Qatar through the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP), and an MME license in Qatar for radiation imaging practices.

A bachelor’s degree in science or another health-related field is required. Preference will be given to applicants who have completed the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) National Registry exam or hold an equivalent national or international cardiovascular credential.

Experience

You should have at least 3 years of post-graduation experience in an invasive cardiovascular laboratory. Candidates with 5 years or more of relevant post-graduation experience are preferred.

• Ability to carry out procedures related to interventional radiology and cardiac catheterization.

Language requirements

Arabic and English are required. A strong spoken command of English and sufficient written English skills are preferred.
