Overview

Piara Waters Primary School is building a pool of cleaning staff for permanent and fixed-term roles that may come up during the 2026 school year and through the end of Term 2, 2027. Opportunities may be made available at any point for vacancies starting within that timeframe.

The school serves Kindergarten to Year 6 students and operates as an Independent Public School with the flexibility to focus on strong outcomes for every classroom and every student, every day.

Role summary

This position is for a day cleaner. The shift is 5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, from 9:00am to 2:00pm.

Duties

The successful applicant will be responsible for a range of general cleaning tasks across the school site, including toilets, indoor and outdoor furniture and fittings, windows, verandahs, outdoor areas, high-traffic windows and doors, dusting, litter collection and removal, drinking troughs, staff room upkeep, student accident clean-up, and other routine cleaning duties as needed.

What the school is looking for

Applicants should have a strong eye for detail, be dependable and well organised, and be comfortable working both on their own and as part of a team. The role also calls for flexibility to respond to ad hoc requests so the school remains clean and safe. Experience with cleaning equipment and knowledge of safe cleaning methods and procedures would be an advantage.

Eligibility

To be employed, you must hold a valid Working With Children Check, agree to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number from the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before starting. You must also be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, a permanent resident, or hold a valid visa with appropriate work rights for the full appointment period.
