Role overview
The Construction Coordinator will oversee and align tool-related work so that key master schedule milestones are delivered safely, reliably, and on time. In this role, you will act as a representative for PIT activities, working closely with the PIT Lead and/or TIPM while coordinating day-to-day execution at the workface.
You will partner with trade contractors, tool owners, system owners, and external parties to keep progress moving across activities such as Prefac, Move-in & Set, SL1-C, and SL2-C. The position serves as the primary communication point for field TI operations, with responsibility for identifying constraints, reducing risk, escalating unresolved matters, and maintaining disciplined, safe execution on site.
Safety
- Follow all Work Control Processes and safe work standards, while actively promoting a strong daily safety culture.
- Keep work areas orderly and ensure materials and equipment are handled, stored, disposed of, and transported correctly.
- Spot risks that could interrupt production ahead of Prefac and help prevent them through coordinated trade execution.
- Carry out daily site checks, confirm safe conditions, stop work when required, and complete PTP audits with practical coaching.
Quality
- Support QCR/QAR inspections and milestone handovers by confirming readiness and tracking quality performance.
- Coordinate third-party testing and certification activities such as pressure, analytical, voltage, and exhaust T&B, and confirm system integrity before tests begin.
Execution
- Coordinate vendors, including dependencies involving tool manufacturers, assembly work, and logistics planning.
- Run Work Control activities such as SIPP, eFIT, and Tool Reservation.
- Use Last Planner® System methods including pull planning, weekly planning, and daily huddles to manage field conditions, clashes, and constraints.
- Communicate short-interval plans that stay aligned with PIT and overall project schedules.
- Oversee safe, high-quality move-in and move-out of tools, pedestals, and equipment without disrupting production.
- Lead move-in/out activities and ensure the required paperwork, including SIPP, work plans, and risk assessments, is in place.
- Remove blockers, escalate issues when needed, and enforce adherence to the MIMO schedule.
- Supervise pedestal installation and inspection activities and escalate any defects found.
- Maintain a visible field presence to support real-time supervision and issue resolution.
- Ensure e-Fit timelines and IDP guidelines are followed, and raise any risks to production early.
- Help develop and strengthen BKMs while encouraging an IFF culture among contractors.
- Work with technical teams and Development PMs to support implementation planning and rollout activities.
Education and experience
This role calls for one of the following backgrounds:
- At least 5 years of experience in semiconductor or high-tech construction, or
- A 4-year degree in construction or engineering plus 8 years of relevant experience, or
- A 2-year technical degree plus 5 or more years of relevant experience.
Applicants should also have experience across the full development lifecycle, from concept through to delivery.
Skills and personal strengths
- Highly self-driven, with the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and adjust to changing priorities.
- Comfortable working independently while also contributing effectively in a team setting.
- Strong capability in analysis, problem-solving, leadership, and communication.
- Goal-focused and able to perform well in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong written and spoken English skills.
