Role overview
Stride, Inc. is looking for a Financial Analyst to support several business units with analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. The role focuses on reviewing, tracking, and interpreting financial data to produce timely, accurate models that help improve profitability through stronger operational efficiency and better use of resources. The ideal candidate is analytical, resourceful, adaptable, and motivated by a fast-paced challenge.
What you will do
- Handle general ledger accounting and provide day-to-day financial support.
- Review budgets and costs, study differences between actual results, forecasts, and plans, and use the findings to improve future projections and operations.
- Refresh forecasts and budget estimates on a regular basis.
- Analyze data, compare performance, and recommend practical actions based on the results.
- Build and maintain financial models, including gathering and combining large datasets and developing models from the ground up or improving existing ones.
- Prepare accurate materials that support the monthly close process and timeline.
- Create and deliver clear presentations for senior leaders to support decision-making and profitability.
- Document important finance processes and identify opportunities to improve them.
- Work closely with business leaders to summarize and interpret key information.
- Organize large volumes of analytical data and present it in a format that is easy to understand and useful for business decisions.
- Lead special analyses and project work to support leadership decisions.
- Support the School Finance team with Stride and school financial policies, internal controls, and business processes.
Qualifications and requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or a related discipline, plus 2 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
- Practical exposure to multiple finance areas such as budgeting, consolidation, performance reporting, and financial analysis.
- Good knowledge of accounting procedures, controls, and related processes.
- Strong research, problem-solving, and analytical ability.
- Comfort working collaboratively as part of a team and maintaining a customer-focused approach.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio, along with general web proficiency.
- Ability to clear the required background check.
- No professional certifications or licenses are required for this role.
Additional details
This is a regular full-time position based onsite in the United States. The role does not include formal supervisory duties. Candidates should note that duties may expand to other related tasks as assigned. Employment is at-will in accordance with the law of the state where the employee works, and any change to that at-will status must be made in writing and signed by an authorized officer.
Compensation and benefits
The expected salary range for this position is $53,883 to $86,213 per year. The final offer depends on factors such as education, experience, qualifications, work location, travel requirements, expected output, and the value of the employee’s benefit elections. Offers are generally made in the lower half of the stated range. Eligible employees may also receive a bonus. Benefits can include health coverage, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
