About the Role
Kwalee is looking to add a Game Scout to its PC and Console publishing team in Australia or New Zealand. This role sits within a global game studio known for a large mobile portfolio with more than 1.5 billion downloads, as well as a strong PC and console publishing business with chart-performing releases across Steam, consoles, and Amazon. Recent successes include titles such as The Precinct and Town to City.
In this position, you will help identify, assess, and secure games with strong commercial potential for the PC and Console division. You will also help build dependable relationships with developers while contributing to business growth and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Use your game knowledge, market research, and industry background to source promising PC and console titles for possible publishing deals.
- Review and assess submitted or discovered games as part of the internal evaluation and due diligence workflow.
- Guide and oversee Publishing Scouts and Publishing Evangelists.
- Develop, expand, and maintain a broad network of developer contacts and industry relationships.
- Track market shifts and competitor activity to guide team decisions, spot new opportunities, and strengthen scouting and publishing approaches.
- Share important publishing findings and recommendations with the Head of PC and Console Publishing when needed.
- Regularly play games and study competing products to understand what drives success in the PC and console market.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience, or an equivalent background, in game scouting, business development, or a closely related area.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and professional networking practices.
- Demonstrated success in closing deals and generating business against competing offers.
- Good understanding of legal considerations in the industry and how to structure mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Willingness to travel internationally for gaming industry events.
- A well-established network within the games industry across Australia and New Zealand.
