About the opportunity
TBH is looking for a Junior Project Planner (Consultant) to join its Sydney team. This position is well suited to someone with a solid base in planning and scheduling, risk management, claims, or cost management, and who wants to grow a career by working on complex and varied assignments. You will be exposed to project planning, schedule analysis, and wider project controls work while learning alongside experienced consultants and project managers in engineering and construction settings.
In this role, you will support planning and scheduling services across project, programme, and portfolio environments. The work spans strategic advisory support, disputes and claims analysis, variation assessments, cost control, estimating, benchmarking, commercial advisory, contract management, and client delivery across sectors such as energy, water, infrastructure, and international projects.
What you will do
- Help build and update construction schedules using drawings and project records.
- Support progress tracking and resequencing efforts to reduce the impact of schedule delays.
- Check and assess third-party schedules, including logic, scope, and critical path review.
- Assist with integrated master schedules for linked programmes of work.
- Contribute to cost-loaded and resource-loaded schedule creation and upkeep.
- Prepare scheduling documents, including basis of schedule material and related outputs.
- Support design programming, integrated baseline reviews, and shutdown planning.
- Take on project delivery tasks as directed by service delivery and project leads.
- Develop productive working relationships with internal teams and client contacts through clear, professional communication.
- Review project information and turn it into insights that support decisions.
- Assist with client-facing outputs, such as analysis, reports, and project deliverables.
What you will bring
- A relevant bachelor’s qualification in Architecture, Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a similar field.
- At least 2 years of postgraduate experience in site engineering, planning, or quantity surveying.
- Background in project planning within construction, infrastructure, energy, or telecommunications.
- Contract administration experience is helpful, though not essential.
- Strong analytical ability, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Experience using Primavera P6, MS Project, Power BI, and Microsoft Office tools.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
- Comfort working collaboratively in a team-based environment.
- Consultancy experience is advantageous but not required.
