Role Overview

El Pastor at Kings Cross in London is hiring a Kitchen Porter to join its restaurant team. El Pastor is a compact London-based group of Mexican taquerias shaped by the founders’ years in Mexico City, including time spent running a well-known nightclub while exploring the city’s best taco al pastor.

The restaurants are built around high-quality, authentic ingredients. The team prepares fresh tortillas every day from heritage corn and works directly with suppliers and cooperative farmers in Mexico. The business has also earned a Star from the Sustainable Restaurant Association. Team members are expected to understand where the ingredients come from and how that shapes the dishes they help deliver. El Pastor also places strong emphasis on mezcals, tequilas, and creating a lively, celebratory atmosphere every day.

What You Will Do

• Support the kitchen operation in a busy high-quality restaurant environment.
• Follow food hygiene and safety standards consistently.
• Keep all kitchen areas clean, tidy, and well organised.
• Carry out opening and closing routines accurately.

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience in high-quality restaurant kitchens in London is required.
• You must be confident following food safety and hygiene procedures.

• Experience with opening and closing procedures is expected.
• You should be dependable, committed, and ready to work in a fast-paced kitchen.
• A positive approach to learning from the chef team is essential.
