Role Overview
This opportunity is for an experienced Data Scientist with a strong background in marketing and distribution analytics, ideally within financial services or asset management. The position is centered on using AI, machine learning, and advanced analytical methods to strengthen customer targeting, improve campaign outcomes, and enhance distribution effectiveness in regulated, data-heavy settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI and machine learning models for customer segmentation, propensity scoring, predictive forecasting, and lead qualification.
- Develop, run, and support analytical solutions on AWS and Azure platforms, including SageMaker, Azure Machine Learning, and Databricks.
- Prepare scalable analytical datasets and reusable Python and SQL code for ongoing use.
- Produce dashboards and insight reports in Power BI to support audience analysis, segment evaluation, campaign performance tracking, distribution performance review, and business interpretation of model outputs.
- Partner with teams across marketing, distribution, sales, technology, and data engineering to improve targeting, engagement, and conversion results.
- Explain analytical outcomes in a clear way to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Skills and Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in data science, marketing analytics, or a similar analytical discipline, with solid exposure to financial services and cloud-based analytics tools.
- Strong practical ability in Python, SQL, and machine learning methods.
- Working knowledge of Power BI and data visualization for decision support.
- Familiarity with AI-based lead scoring and intent platforms such as 6sense, Bombora, or comparable tools.
- Understanding of financial services data, including customer, advisor, product, and transactional information.
- Awareness of data governance, privacy, and model risk issues in regulated environments.
- Comfort working with both technical detail and commercial priorities while engaging stakeholders effectively.
Preferred Background
- Experience in asset management, insurance, retirement, or advisor/intermediary-led distribution models is an advantage.
- Experience with cloud analytics and model deployment practices in AWS and Azure would be beneficial.
Location and Working Pattern
The role is based in Letterkenny, County Donegal, Ireland. It follows a hybrid arrangement, with 2 to 3 days per week required onsite.
