About the role
Leigh & Co. Events is a rapidly expanding wedding planning business that creates wedding design, coordination, and planning experiences for engaged couples. They are hiring a Lead Wedding Coordinator for a contract engagement with a flexible schedule that you can choose yourself. Training will be provided, and the company is seeking someone to support weddings during the 2026 season and beyond.
What the role involves
This position acts as the main planner on site, working closely with client experience managers during the planning stages and with assistant coordinators during the event itself. The role is centered on hands-on wedding execution, mainly on location.
- Join the final details call with clients around six weeks before the wedding to review logistics, timing, and expectations.
- Run the ceremony rehearsal the day before the wedding so everyone understands the sequence, timing, and key cues.
- Represent the couple on site, staying calm, solution-oriented, and supportive throughout the event.
- Supervise ceremony and reception setup so it matches the event design and day-of execution plan.
- Oversee wedding-day operations from vendor arrival through the final breakdown at the end of the evening.
- Welcome vendors, guide them, and serve as the central point of contact throughout the event.
- Clearly communicate setup instructions to vendors to keep everyone aligned with the plan.
- Help place personal and décor items such as escort cards, menus, table numbers, favors, guest books, and decorative pieces.
- Support the wedding party and family members with timing, direction, and other day-of needs.
- Make sure end-of-event items like gifts, guest books, and personal décor are packed up and accounted for.
- Handle unexpected issues and last-minute changes quickly so the guest experience stays smooth.
