About the team

The Zillow Preferred group is a high-performing, cross-functional organization focused on working closely with top real estate professionals so they can create excellent experiences for home shoppers. The team brings together strategists, marketers, relationship managers, service specialists, product managers, and operations leaders who collaborate to move the business forward.

The Partnerships function serves as the primary point of contact for driving revenue results through close relationships with real estate agent teams and individual Zillow Preferred Agents. Team members act as strategic advisors who understand partner needs deeply and help them grow their business to its fullest potential.

About the role

The Manager, Preferred Partnerships is a people-leadership position on Zillow’s frontline Preferred team. In this role, you will guide a team of Advisors responsible for coaching, influencing, and expanding top-tier Zillow Preferred Agent partners working through the integrated transaction and post-pay pricing model.

You will operate with an ownership mindset, align goals to company targets, concentrate on the key metrics that matter most, and use funnel and financial data to shape daily decisions. The role calls for building an inclusive, high-performance culture based on trust, accountability, and continuous improvement while demonstrating strong commercial judgment, operational discipline, performance management, enablement, and a One Zillow mindset.

What you will do

  • Turn company priorities into specific, measurable goals for your team and portfolio.
  • Keep the team focused on a limited set of high-impact indicators such as conversion, pipeline quality, and revenue predictability.
  • Use funnel performance and financial insights to make informed decisions about priorities, time allocation, and resources.
  • Maintain a steady management cadence, including recurring 1:1s, pipeline reviews, monthly business rollups, and quarterly talent and performance check-ins.
  • Apply data-driven coaching to uncover root causes and translate findings into practical next steps for each Growth Advisor.
  • Link recognition, development, and performance management directly to outcomes and quality standards.
  • Ensure consistent use of Zillow’s dashboards, systems, and playbooks, including Salesforce, Tableau, and GA playbooks.
  • Work with enablement and other cross-functional partners to improve tools, content, and processes based on feedback from the field.
  • Help Advisors self-assess and adjust through Zillow’s operating model rather than relying on local workarounds.
  • Develop account strategies that align Zillow and partner objectives with measurable business impact.
  • Allocate effort toward the partners and business levers that drive the strongest balance of growth, retention, and experience.
  • Coach Advisors to conduct strong discovery, understand partner motivations and blockers, and connect Zillow solutions to clear partner value.
  • Track partner health using feedback and performance trends, and partner internally to resolve systemic issues affecting the experience.
  • Communicate the purpose behind new systems, programs, and process changes in practical terms for both the team and partners.
  • Set expectations clearly, reinforce new habits through coaching and example, and measure adoption and impact with agreed metrics.
  • Share structured feedback on change efforts with central teams and help remove obstacles so the team can navigate ambiguity confidently.
  • Make timely decisions with clear reasoning when direction or priorities change.
  • Create an environment of trust, accountability, and continuous improvement where expectations are explicit and feedback is direct and useful.
  • Invest in coaching, development, and succession planning to strengthen team capability and readiness.
  • Promote equity, belonging, and inclusion as part of a strong performance culture.
  • Build trusted relationships with partners across Sales, Product, Marketing, Operations, Loans, Closings, and Analytics.
  • Encourage collaborative problem-solving so partners experience Zillow as one connected organization.
  • Represent frontline and partner needs in cross-functional planning while staying aligned to broader Zillow and Preferred strategy.
