Role overview

Samsung Electronics UK is looking for a Paralegal to support a compact Legal team within its rapidly expanding European Services Business Office (ESBO) in London. ESBO works across Samsung’s ecosystem to deliver content and connected user experiences spanning streaming, advertising, mobile, gaming, smart appliances and art, using the company’s scale, data and technology. In this role, you will help the business move forward while reducing legal and regulatory exposure.

The position covers a wide range of media-law matters, including channel and content licensing, app distribution, ad-tech, advertising, mobile experiences, gaming and related commercial work. Because ESBO operates throughout Europe, you will interact with colleagues and counterparties across multiple European jurisdictions as well as in the UK.

Key responsibilities

Take responsibility for the legal matter workflow for ESBO, including training business users on how to create and manage requests and supporting contract finalisation and signature.
Keep contact records and the team’s advice-note intranet organised, accurate and continuously improved.
Support daily team operations such as expenses, billing and automated NDA processes.
Help build team knowledge by tracking legal developments relevant to the business and sharing useful industry updates.
Coordinate with legal colleagues across European subsidiaries and with ESBO teams such as Finance, Product and Tax to support pan-European service procurement and project contracting, and to advise on relevant EU and local laws.
Work with outside counsel and specialist advisors as needed.
Assist in drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad mix of commercial agreements linked to ESBO activities, including content and channel licences, app distribution, marketing deals, and media sales arrangements such as SSP and agency trading agreements.
Support legal and regulatory risk assessments, especially in targeted advertising, streaming and app distribution matters.
Provide ad hoc help for team events and projects.
Contribute to the team’s standing as a responsive, commercially minded legal partner, including ownership of the weekly Legal newsletter.

What the role requires

Strong academic background and a clear interest in legal work, shown through a law degree, current law studies or a related discipline.
Interest in technology and business, with enthusiasm for working across different legal subject areas.
Willingness to learn, take ownership of personal development and absorb information quickly.
Excellent organisation skills and the ability to handle both creative legal tasks and repetitive, detail-heavy administrative work.
Strong prioritisation skills and the ability to assess tasks by urgency, risk and business impact.
Good judgement on when to escalate issues, plus confidence in raising concerns with senior colleagues.
A collaborative, patient and flexible approach, with the ability to work independently when needed.
Excellent written communication, sharp attention to detail and a desire to develop drafting, negotiation, research and issue-spotting skills.
Strong interpersonal communication, including active listening and the ability to adjust tone for different audiences, cultures, work styles and seniority levels.
