Pricing Data Analyst

About the Role

Chewy is hiring a Pricing Analyst to join its Pricing Operations team in Plantation, Florida. This position is central to supporting customer trust, business growth, and profitability by helping maintain pricing strategy, accurate pricing execution, and dependable reporting for better decision-making across the organization.

The role is focused on daily pricing operations and analysis within established guardrails, with an emphasis on price integrity, competitive coverage, data quality, and reducing defects. The right candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with large datasets to spot patterns, research issues, and support pricing decisions. You will use established tools, reports, and processes to work through moderately ambiguous problems, conduct early-stage root-cause analysis, share findings clearly, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen execution and protect pricing standards. Performance in this role will be evaluated through improvements in productivity, pricing accuracy, competitive coverage, SLA compliance for key workflows, and analysis quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Run Pricing Operations processes such as exception queues, outlier reviews, and competitive matching, while maintaining steady execution, fixing defects, and escalating higher-judgment cases when necessary.
• Track competitor actions, pricing and promotion shifts, assortment changes, and site functionality updates, then relay meaningful insights and customer-trust risks to relevant teams.
• Work closely with internal partners such as Data Science, Analytics, and Technology, as well as external stakeholders including Category Management, Promotions, Finance, and vendors, to ensure pricing data, reporting, and operational inputs are accurate, complete, and useful for decision-making.
• Review recurring pricing metrics and operational patterns to uncover issues, form initial hypotheses, and help confirm root causes with cross-functional collaborators.
• Research unclear pricing questions using existing tools, SOPs, and business context, then present findings along with recommendations and next steps.
• Contribute to recurring business reviews, ad hoc analysis, and continuous improvement by identifying risks, anomalies, and data-supported opportunities to reduce manual work, improve pricing accuracy, and support automation or tooling enhancements where appropriate.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent analytical experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in pricing, analytics, ecommerce, merchandising support, operational analysis, or a related area.
• Advanced Excel capability and comfort handling large datasets.
• Working knowledge of SQL.
• Experience using dashboards and reporting tools, ideally Tableau, to monitor KPIs and investigate defects or performance issues.
• Exposure to Jira or similar ticketing or workflow management systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn data into clear business summaries.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and remain effective in a fast-moving environment.
• Comfort operating within defined processes while investigating exceptions and escalating complex issues when needed.
• Experience spotting opportunities to streamline recurring workflows; Python or VBA scripting/automation exposure is a plus.
