Role overview
Abunayyan Holding is looking for a seasoned Risk Manager to oversee risk identification, evaluation, and mitigation across several projects and business functions. In this role, you will build and maintain risk management systems, carry out detailed risk assessments, monitor significant issues, and provide leadership with the insights needed to protect delivery, financial performance, and day-to-day operational continuity.
Core responsibilities
- Create and roll out a structured risk management approach for both projects and operational activities.
- Spot threats tied to timelines, budgets, safety, quality, contract obligations, and operational workflows.
- Perform both qualitative and quantitative assessments, including likelihood and impact reviews.
- Keep an updated risk register and follow mitigation actions, accountable owners, and status progress.
- Partner with project managers and senior leaders to put mitigation and contingency measures into action.
- Track leading indicators and escalate high-priority risks to management without delay.
- Investigate root causes behind incidents, schedule slippages, and budget overruns.
- Contribute risk insights during tendering, planning, and execution phases of projects.
- Develop periodic risk reports, dashboards, and executive-level presentations.
- Lead risk workshops, awareness initiatives, and training sessions for project teams.
- Help ensure alignment with internal policies, contract requirements, and relevant industry standards.
- Support business continuity planning and readiness for crisis response.
Qualifications and experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Risk Management, Project Management, or a similar discipline is required; certifications such as PMI-RMP or ISO 31000 are a plus.
- At least 10 years of experience in risk management, or in a senior role related to risk, project controls, or planning, preferably within construction or infrastructure environments.
- Solid knowledge of risk identification methods, assessment techniques, and mitigation planning.
- Hands-on experience with risk management tools and software applications.
- Strong ability to analyze data, work with numbers, and solve complex problems.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Comfort working across multiple teams and managing complex, multi-project settings.
