Role Overview
LightFeather is looking for a Scrum Master to support a federal cloud modernization initiative at a major government client. This role serves as the central owner of the agile process for a cloud engineering team delivering on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring Scrum practices are executed smoothly and sprint delivery stays organized in a fast-paced technical environment.
This is a hands-on Scrum Master position with responsibility for the full agile workflow. You will work closely with the Product Owner and technical lead, connect periodically with federal stakeholders, and act as the main resource for sprint visibility, task tracking, and ceremony coordination. The ideal candidate has a strong grasp of Scrum, adapts well to changing priorities, and communicates confidently with both senior engineers and agency representatives.
Location and Work Setup
The role is based in a hybrid format with four in-office days per week in Washington, D.C. 20006 and one day of telework. The posting also states that the candidate must be able to work onsite in Washington, DC five days per week.

- Organize and run sprint demos at the end of each iteration while keeping the ceremony rhythm consistent.
- Work with the Product Owner to improve the backlog, draft and break down user stories and subtasks, and keep the Jira sprint board accurate.
- Act as the main source of sprint status updates by generating reports, tracking task ownership, and keeping both the team and leadership informed.
- Keep documentation and reference content current in SharePoint and coordinate with the BA on documentation-related deliverables when needed.
- Track ServiceNow tickets as part of the Jira workflow and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
- Provide high-level support for change management efforts, especially around pipeline and security-related work with technical teammates.
- Model strong agile practices for the team by setting expectations for how work is organized, communicated, and completed.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must hold an active Secret or Top Secret clearance.
- 5 to 8 years of Scrum Master experience in an IT or software delivery setting.
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) credential or an equivalent agile/Scrum certification.

- Strong working knowledge of Jira for story creation, subtasks, and sprint monitoring.
- Familiarity with at least one cloud environment such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- High-level understanding of DevSecOps concepts and delivery pipelines to support grooming and team discussion.
