About the role
SAP is seeking an experienced Solution Advisor Expert to join its AI, Data and Platform Solution Advisory team in Auckland. This role is centered on SAP Business Data Cloud and is designed for a data and analytics specialist who can guide customers and sales teams through the full pre-sales journey, from discovering opportunities to closing deals and supporting post-sale expansion. The position calls for someone with deep knowledge of data platforms, analytics, and AI, and an interest in helping customers modernize their data environment to create measurable business value.
The team works closely with sales, architecture, partners, and customers across multiple industries. The right candidate will bring strong advisory experience in data and cloud platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or similar technologies, along with the ability to position SAP’s data and AI portfolio in a compelling way.
What you'll do
- Act as the primary data and AI solution expert supporting sales motions and customer adoption of SAP Business Data Cloud, including Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Databricks, SAP HANA Cloud, Intelligent Apps, Data Products, and Open Data Ecosystem partners.
- Create and deliver both standard and tailored demonstrations that show how analytics, data products, and AI can generate business value.
- Support account teams with workshops, solution presentations, and demos that help identify, qualify, and advance opportunities.
- Lead high-impact customer interactions such as executive briefings, technical workshops, architecture reviews, RFP responses, custom demos, and multi-stakeholder proof-of-concepts.
- Assess customer data and analytics maturity, architecture, and use cases to determine opportunity focus areas.
- Build a reputation as a trusted thought leader in data and AI within account teams and help shape account strategy.
- Work with sales, partners, and marketing to develop differentiated value propositions for data and AI solutions.
- Run technical and business rehearsals for strategic data platform and AI engagements.
- Hand over successful opportunities to implementation partners and SAP Services with clear solution designs.
- Maintain customer engagement after sale to drive adoption, renewals, and upsell opportunities for SAP Business Data Cloud.
- Collaborate with partners, including GSSPs and niche service partners, to deliver complete customer solutions.
- Develop and share thought leadership content such as articles, case studies, and best-practice guidance that highlights innovative use cases and helps spread proven approaches across the SAP data and AI expert community.
What you bring
Professional experience in enterprise software, cloud platforms, data, analytics, or AI is required. SAP is looking for candidates with 7 to 10+ years of experience in advisory roles covering SAP Data & Analytics or cloud solutions such as Databricks, Snowflake, Google, AWS, or Azure. Strong working knowledge of cloud and SaaS/PaaS environments, data warehousing, data engineering, analytics, AI/ML, and modern data and AI architecture is important.
Experience with SAP Business Data Cloud, SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Databricks, SAP HANA Cloud, S/4HANA, or BW is highly valued. The role also requires the ability to translate customer business problems into data, analytics, and AI solutions, develop persuasive data-to-value narratives, and communicate confidently with senior stakeholders including CIOs, CDOs, CEOs, CFOs, and executive leadership.
