Role overview
THX Ltd is hiring a Workshop Cleaning Operative based in Bedford. The role focuses on preparing returned hired equipment each morning, then moving into inspection support, van unloading, and yard work later in the day. What you will do
- Wash ladders, podiums, scissor lifts, and other equipment using a pressure washer.
- Manually clean a variety of hire equipment.
- Apply THX branding stickers to newly received equipment.
- Take photos and keep records of items that are especially dirty.
- Keep the yard, workshop, warehouse, and vehicle parking areas clean, organised, and tidy on a regular basis.
- Support the warehouse, workshop, and driving teams whenever needed.
- Inspect ladders and podiums.
Development opportunities
- Opportunity to learn inspection and testing of returning hire equipment alongside the workshop team, with training provided.
- Forklift training may also be offered.
Working pattern
You will work Monday to Friday, from 7:00am to 4:30pm, including a 30-minute break. Overtime may occasionally be required or offered depending on customer demand.
Requirements
- A practical approach and the ability to work quickly and in a structured way.
- Previous experience in cleaning, organising, and tidying.
- Good physical fitness and a strong work ethic as a team player.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Strong spoken communication skills.
- A helpful, positive attitude and readiness to support others.
- The ability to stay focused while carrying out repetitive tasks.
