Role overview
A fast-growing food manufacturing company is seeking an Account Manager to join its Commercial function in Maidstone. This is a site-based, Monday to Friday position with a salary range of £45,000 to £55,000.
You will sit at the centre of the business, acting as the main connection between customers and internal teams. The role focuses on keeping customer projects moving, ensuring communication stays clear and proactive, and making sure service levels are consistently high from initial order through final delivery.
Working across Commercial, Planning, Production, Procurement, Quality and Logistics, you will help coordinate customer needs, align internal priorities, and support delivery on time and in full. The role is commercially driven and customer facing, with strong potential to shape long-term client relationships and contribute to the company’s growth.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the main contact for customer queries, communication and account handling.
- Develop strong client relationships through regular updates and review discussions.
- Coordinate customer projects across several internal functions to ensure smooth delivery.
- Keep customers informed with accurate progress updates on orders, timelines and project milestones.
- Identify risks, handle escalations and work with internal colleagues to resolve issues quickly.
- Partner with Production, Planning, Procurement, Quality and Logistics to support on-time, complete deliveries.
- Assist Sales and Account Management colleagues in delivering a consistent experience across accounts.
- Share customer forecasts, scheduling needs and commercial changes to support production planning.
- Support quotations, pricing work and new product development activities when needed.
- Track customer KPIs, account performance and service standards, and look for ways to improve results.
- Encourage collaboration, ownership and clear communication across cross-functional teams.

Candidate profile
The ideal candidate will have experience in account management, customer service, customer operations or a similar commercial, client-facing position. Background in food manufacturing, FMCG or another manufacturing setting is preferred.
You should bring strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, along with the ability to manage several projects and priorities at the same time. Confidence working with both operational and commercial teams is important, as is being highly organised with strong attention to detail. You should be comfortable using Excel and business systems, and take a proactive, practical approach to solving problems with excellent communication skills.
