Responsibilities
- Monitor a live video stream of patients from a remote location and stay alert to any behavior or activity that may affect safety.
- Communicate directly with patients using a two-way audio device when intervention or redirection is needed.
- Trigger an alarm and relay brief, accurate information to nursing staff when urgent assistance is required.
- Maintain precise records of observations, patient interactions, and incidents in the electronic health record.
- Perform routine safety checks on monitoring equipment and carry out basic troubleshooting when needed.
- Move and deliver equipment to multiple units as part of day-to-day support duties.
- Work cooperatively with nurses and other team members while following established protocols.
Requirements
- Completion of Grade 12 or an equivalent level of education.
- Previous experience working as a virtual monitoring attendant.
- Experience keeping watch over multiple patients at the same time.
- Ability to sit for long periods and continuously walk while pushing equipment for at least two hours in a shift.
- Constant alertness while observing patient activity.
- Strong client-focused mindset and excellent attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills, including continual use of a keyboard and mouse.
- Comfort using a smartphone device.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Solid teamwork skills and a collaborative approach.
- Ability to follow established procedures and protocols.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and give verbal instructions in English.
- Ability to adjust quickly and respond to changing priorities.

- Preferred background: experience in a healthcare environment and recent customer service experience.
