Role overview
The Associate Manager Quality is accountable for maintaining quality assurance and food safety standards at the site.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain alignment with FSSC 22000 requirements and customer-specific standards.
- Handle Halal and Kosher compliance requirements, along with customer audits such as Yum! and McDonald's SQMS.
- Protect product quality by applying the right checks, inspections, and tests against defined quality criteria.
- Build and implement quality management systems for receipt, storage, processing, handling, dispatch, and movement of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods.
- Share vendor and supplier performance feedback with the purchase manager to support supplier development and certification.
- Create and maintain documented process flows and certification records related to GMP and customer needs.
- Safeguard the reliability of quality analysis through proper training, calibrated instruments, and effective testing methods.
- Perform finished goods shelf audits in retail environments and introduce actions that preserve product integrity across shelf life.
- Ensure factory-wide safety and hygiene practices are consistently followed to reduce accidents, occupational health risks, and contamination.
- Review customer and consumer complaints and use findings to improve production processes, product quality, and functionality.
Qualifications
The role calls for a B.Tech in Food Technology, or a degree in Microbiology or Food Science, along with certification as a GFSI lead auditor.
Preferred background
Prior exposure to SAP tools used in quality functions is preferred. The employer is looking for someone with 5 to 8 years of experience in a comparable role within a medium to large FMCG manufacturing environment.
