Role overview
The Chief Operating Officer will be a senior leader on the executive team, accountable for operational performance, coordination across functions, and disciplined execution throughout the business. The position covers daily oversight of project management, installation, and internal workflows, with a focus on improving efficiency, setting clear processes, and maintaining accountability in a dynamic environment. This is a practical, hands-on leadership role for someone who can bring order, drive results, and help the company scale.
Key responsibilities
- Lead daily operating activity across project management, installation, and internal departments.
- Create, implement, and maintain operational systems, accountability frameworks, and performance expectations.
- Keep Sales, Operations, Finance, and Project teams aligned around business goals and delivery priorities.
- Act as the central coordinator for requests from investors, the board, and senior leadership, ensuring responses and materials are accurate and delivered on time.
- Work with Finance and Human Resources on budget planning, staffing needs, and resource allocation.
- Spot process gaps and introduce practical improvements that strengthen execution and productivity.
- Monitor core business metrics and share clear visibility into results, issues, and risk areas.
- Help leadership prioritize work, make decisions, and move strategic initiatives forward.
- Maintain cross-functional ownership by clarifying responsibilities and ensuring commitments are met across teams.
Required experience and capabilities
- 8 to 12 years of experience in operations, business management, or a similar senior leadership function.
- Demonstrated success managing cross-functional teams and delivering on execution goals.
- Background in creating structure and accountability within fast-moving or changing organizations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence working with executives and outside stakeholders.
- Experience in small to mid-sized businesses or growth-stage organizations.
Preferred background
- Prior experience in construction, project-based work, or design-oriented businesses.
- Exposure to financial reporting, budgeting, and business performance measurement.
- Experience collaborating with executive leaders and external partners such as investors.
