Copywriting Associate / Proofreader (Part-Time, Remote)

Overview

This remote contract opportunity is for an experienced proofreader who can support a marketing team by reviewing a broad mix of member-facing and promotional content. The work includes materials such as brochures, benefit guides, sales sheets, direct mail pieces, advertisements, social posts, and video assets.

The role is highly detail-driven and execution-oriented. The main objective is to make sure every piece of content is accurate, compliant, and consistent with brand and regulatory standards. Prior proofreading experience in a tightly regulated environment is especially important.

Work Schedule

The assignment is expected to take about 20 hours per week, with flexible timing. Hours may be scheduled in the morning, evening, or after standard business hours.

Responsibilities

• Check marketing and communication content for grammar, factual accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
• Validate materials against legal, regulatory, and trademark requirements.
• Ensure content follows company style standards across different formats and channels.
• Prepare materials for final approval and update them with revisions as needed.
• Work closely with marketing, legal, and compliance teams to maintain accuracy.

Required Qualifications

• An associate degree or higher is preferred, though 5+ years of relevant experience may be considered in place of formal education.
• At least 3 years of professional proofreading experience is required.
• Background in a highly regulated industry is needed, with preference given to health insurance or healthcare settings such as hospitals, health systems, or medical practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong proofreading ability are essential.
