Overview
This is a full-time Support Officer opportunity within Endeavour Foundation’s Defence Assistance Program (DAP), based in Holtze, Darwin, Northern Territory. The role is suited to someone who enjoys supporting others, working as part of a team, and contributing to meaningful outcomes each day.
In this position, you will assist employees with disability who are working in Defence environments, helping them feel supported, capable, and included while they carry out their duties at Defence bases.
Compensation and Benefits
The role offers an hourly rate of $34.75, along with salary packaging benefits. You may package up to $15,900 of your annual salary tax free, which can increase your take-home pay. In addition, up to $2,650 of pre-tax income can be used for entertainment-related expenses such as meals and holiday accommodation.
Other benefits include an Employee Assistance Program with free and confidential counselling, paid parental leave, salary continuance, and free flu vaccinations.

Role Summary
As a Support Officer on the DAP team, you will work with a small group of employees with disability and help them succeed in their daily roles. You will provide practical coaching, encouragement, and workplace support while also liaising with Defence staff to make sure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to a good standard.
Key Duties
- Guide and support a small team of employees with disability in their everyday work
- Deliver one-to-one coaching that helps build confidence and workplace skills
- Assist employees to settle into the site, understand their responsibilities, and feel connected to the Defence community
- Maintain simple progress records and support plans
- Coordinate with Defence personnel to keep work progressing safely, on schedule, and to quality expectations
- Organise tasks and help balance workloads
- Take part in training sessions, team meetings, and workplace safety and support processes
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking someone with a calm, positive approach who genuinely enjoys helping others. Experience supporting people with disability is an advantage, but what matters most is enthusiasm, commitment, and a desire to make a difference.
You should be a clear communicator who can explain tasks simply and respond well in different situations. Confidence with computers and Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Outlook, and Excel is also important. The ability to work cooperatively and build effective relationships with both colleagues and Defence staff will be key.
Eligibility and Clearance
Applicants must be Australian citizens, as a Defence Baseline Security Clearance is required for this position. If selected, you will need to complete that clearance before starting.
