Company overview
The Butcher Shoppe is a custom meat packaging business based in Toronto. The company focuses on carefully selected meats that meet high standards for quality and consistency. Its operations handle thousands of pounds of meat each day through a team of butchers who prepare fresh product to exact customer specifications. With hundreds of daily deliveries across Ontario to hotels, casinos, event venues, restaurants, and other foodservice businesses, the organization supports a large and complex distribution network. Over the last 40 years, it has continued to grow to serve both the foodservice sector and online consumers.
Position overview
The delivery driver reports to the Logistics Supervisor and serves as the primary contact between the company and its customers. Each morning, the driver organizes the delivery route with help from order takers, loads the vehicle with a shipper, and completes deliveries to wholesale and individual clients.
Key responsibilities
- Transport products to customers in a safe, professional, and timely way.
- Build and preserve strong customer relationships during deliveries.
- Check invoices and purchase requests carefully to confirm all details are correct.
- Inspect the delivery vehicle and protect the safety of loading and unloading operations.
- Call customers ahead of delivery to verify instructions and details.
- Place merchandise appropriately, follow lifting and safety procedures, and carry out safety checks.
- Keep accurate delivery records and logs.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience working as a delivery driver.
- A valid G-class driver’s licence and a clean driver’s abstract are required.
- Previous experience operating a straight truck is considered an advantage.
Schedule
The role follows a Monday to Saturday schedule. From Monday to Friday, the shift begins at 8:00 AM and usually ends between 5:00 PM and 11:00 PM, depending on the day’s deliveries and workload. On Saturdays, the shift starts at 7:00 AM and generally finishes between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
