Role overview
This opportunity is for a senior digital commerce leader in Canada who can take complete ownership of a Shopify-based direct-to-consumer business. The role calls for someone who is both strategic and highly execution-oriented, with the ability to assess current performance, identify the biggest growth opportunities, and lead the e-commerce function from an early stage.
Working closely with the Founder, you will shape the growth plan, implement the most urgent improvements first, and later expand into paid media and CRM. The environment is fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and focused on execution, with direct influence over revenue and customer experience. As the company grows, you will also help build the team structure, operating processes, and external partnerships needed for scale.
Key accountabilities
- Own the Shopify store end to end, including the storefront, backend workflows, catalog setup, and overall platform health.
- Review the current digital experience in full and create a practical 30/60/90-day action plan centered on the highest-impact opportunities.
- Improve conversion rates through funnel analysis, testing, experimentation, and ongoing optimization.
- Strengthen merchandising across product pages, collection pages, site navigation, search, and promotional activity to lift average order value and revenue.
- Put in place reliable analytics, tracking, and reporting systems to support performance monitoring and decision-making.
- Plan and manage promotional calendars that support commercial goals while maintaining brand consistency.
- Maintain accurate product information, clean catalog data, and smooth operational execution across all digital customer touchpoints.
- Work across functions with designers, developers, content creators, and outside specialists to deliver improvements.
- Identify, coordinate, and manage freelancers, agencies, and contractors when required.
- Set, monitor, and continually refine KPIs that support long-term DTC growth.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of e-commerce experience with direct ownership of site performance and commercial outcomes.
- Strong command of Shopify, including store administration, app integrations, catalog organization, and platform optimization.
- Demonstrated success in improving conversion through CRO, merchandising, and funnel optimization.
- Solid analytical ability with experience interpreting customer behavior, building reporting frameworks, and prioritizing growth opportunities.
- Experience collaborating with creative, technical, and marketing stakeholders.
- Comfort operating in lean, fast-moving, high-growth environments with broad responsibility.
- Availability to work in alignment with North American time zones; candidates based in Canada are strongly preferred.
- Preferred background in DTC, fashion, apparel, or consumer products.
- Preferred exposure to CRM/email marketing, paid media, or lifecycle marketing growth initiatives.
- Preferred familiarity with AI-powered tools for content, merchandising, or optimization workflows.
Benefits and additional information
Compensation is competitive and set at $6,000 to $8,000 per month. The role also includes access to a perks marketplace valued at more than $200K, offering discounts across 150+ global services. In addition, employees can withdraw up to 50% of approved earnings before payday.
This is a fully remote position, with the flexibility to work from anywhere in Canada. It offers a high-impact seat with direct ownership of e-commerce strategy and execution, along with the chance to build and scale a digital commerce function from the ground up. You will work closely with company leadership in a fast-growth setting.
