Role overview
An established Irish business in West Dublin is looking to appoint a Financial Controller to take ownership of core finance reporting, planning, controls, and team leadership. The position requires strong experience in management accounts, financial planning and analysis, and leading finance teams. The role is based onsite three days per week.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts within three weeks of each period close, including detailed variance review.
- Run the annual budgeting and forecasting cycle.
- Lead, coach, and develop a finance team of six covering credit control, assistant accounting, and financial accounting.
- Support the maintenance and ongoing improvement of the ERP platform, Microsoft Business Central, and ensure it works effectively with the CRM system.
- Monitor financial controls across cash flow, supplier payments, bank reconciliations, debtor follow-up, and invoicing.
- Manage tax compliance matters including VAT, ERR, and Corporation Tax.
- Work with the CFO and the Audit & Risk Committee.
- Provide financial oversight of operational performance against actuals, forecast, and budget.
- Contribute to wider strategic initiatives and business improvements.
Candidate profile
- Fully qualified accountant, ideally trained in practice, with at least five years of post-qualification experience.
- Previous experience in a commercial Irish business, ideally in a service-led environment.
- Proven people management ability, including building and developing high-performing teams.
- Advanced Excel skills; exposure to Microsoft Business Central and Power BI would be beneficial.
- Strong capability in analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Comfortable collaborating with colleagues outside finance and explaining financial matters clearly.
Compensation and benefits
The salary range for this position is €90,000 to €100,000, plus additional benefits.
Work arrangement
This is a full-time, onsite role with three days per week based in the office in West Dublin.
