About the company

Equans New Zealand provides integrated technical and facilities management solutions across multiple disciplines, aiming to deliver strong value to all stakeholders through a combined facilities and project management approach.

What you will do

In this position, you will help ensure fire protection systems remain safe, efficient, and compliant with the relevant New Zealand Standards. The role includes servicing, maintaining, installing, and commissioning a broad range of fire alarm systems, along with delivering a high standard of customer service.

  • Service, maintain, test, and repair fire alarm systems such as Pertonic, Tyco, Ampac, Notifier, and similar brands.
  • Install and commission fire protection systems on both new and existing sites.
  • Make sure all work aligns with New Zealand Standards, contract obligations, and internal quality procedures.
  • Carry out inspections, testing activities, and fault finding.
  • Produce accurate records, including documentation, logbooks, and service reports.
  • Work directly with clients to resolve issues and offer professional guidance.
  • Look for opportunities to improve, upgrade, or repair systems.
  • Support project work, including programming, supervising installations, and commissioning tasks.
  • Assist with site reviews and quotation preparation.
  • Organize work efficiently through route planning, time management, and stock management.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with fire alarm systems and maintenance contracts, along with a solid understanding of New Zealand fire standards and compliance expectations. You should be able to work independently, contribute effectively to a team, and handle client interactions with confidence and professionalism.

Additional requirements

  • Strong troubleshooting and communication abilities.
  • A proactive mindset with careful attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership.
  • Comfort working with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
  • Willingness to take part in a rotating on-call roster.
  • Current full driver licence.

Eligibility

Applicants must have full working rights in New Zealand to be considered for a full-time or long-term contract role.
