Housekeeper

Job Overview

This role focuses on keeping guest accommodations and shared hotel spaces clean, organized, and comfortable. The Housekeeper supports a pleasant stay by maintaining high housekeeping standards and helping create a welcoming environment for guests.

Key Duties

• Prepare guest rooms by dusting, vacuuming, replacing linens, and making beds to the required standard.
• Clean and disinfect bathrooms, including fixtures, surfaces, and guest amenities.
• Wipe down furniture, decorative items, and other surfaces in both guest rooms and common areas.
• Replenish room supplies such as toiletries, towels, and linens.
• Remove waste from guest rooms and public spaces, and replace bin liners as needed.
• Care for floors by sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming rooms, hallways, and other assigned areas.
• Spot and escalate maintenance or repair concerns to the appropriate team.
• Watch for misplaced guest belongings and report found items to a supervisor.
• Communicate politely with guests and respond to requests or questions in a professional manner.
• Follow privacy, safety, and security procedures while completing housekeeping tasks.

Skills and Abilities

• Prior housekeeping or similar experience is helpful but not mandatory.
• Careful attention to detail and a solid understanding of cleaning methods, chemicals, and equipment.
• Ability to work on your own, manage assigned rooms, and keep housekeeping carts and supplies organized.
• Clear communication skills for interacting with guests and coworkers.
• Basic awareness of sanitation and safety practices.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.

Working Conditions

This is a physically active position that involves prolonged standing and walking, along with bending, reaching, kneeling, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Work may take place in indoor hotel settings and involve equipment, machines, extreme temperatures, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, loud noise, and other environmental hazards. Safe work practices and protective equipment must be used where required.

Pay

The stated pay rate is $17.50 per hour.
