Role Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for keeping guest rooms, corridors, pantries, and service areas clean, orderly, and maintained to a five-star standard. The role also includes supervising room attendants and related housekeeping support staff, coordinating maintenance follow-up, supporting guest service needs, and ensuring smooth shift handovers.

Key Duties

  • Carry out daily checks of guest rooms, corridors, and pantries to maintain top cleanliness standards.
  • Train room attendants on the job and guide their day-to-day performance.
  • Build and maintain positive employee relationships within the housekeeping team.
  • Inspect housekeeping equipment and machines and make sure they remain in good working condition.
  • Raise work orders and coordinate with Engineering until issues are resolved.
  • Give extra attention to VIP rooms and ensure they are handled properly.
  • Attend daily housekeeping briefings with EKH/AEH.

  • Monitor maintenance reports and ensure unresolved work is followed up.
  • Water and replace flowers according to schedule requirements.
  • Check that all floral arrangements are attractive before they are delivered to guest rooms.
  • Inspect guest rooms and other areas with strong attention to detail.
  • Perform daily physical inspections of occupied, vacant, and checkout rooms at 1300 hours.
  • Ensure maid trolleys are correctly parked in guest corridors and at room entrances during cleaning.
  • Monitor that room attendants follow key issue number 3 and proper room-entry and room-exit procedures.
  • Take responsibility for cleanliness, upkeep, hygiene, and maintenance of guest rooms, corridors, and service areas.
  • Oversee PA attendant activities.
  • Address guest service matters within the assigned station.
  • Supervise room attendants and their activities.
  • Check checkout rooms and occupied guest rooms.
  • Stay fully updated on the daily Rixelence of the Day.
  • Maintain proper grooming at all times.
  • Work cooperatively and respectfully with team members and other departments.
  • Be familiar with daily hotel activities and have product knowledge of all hotel facilities.

Qualifications

A university degree in any discipline is required, along with at least 2 years of experience in a similar role at a five-star hotel.
