About Grove Collaborative

Grove Collaborative is a sustainability-led consumer goods company that develops household and personal care products designed to be effective, thoughtfully designed, and better for people and the planet. The company is a certified B Corp, plastic-neutral, and focused on improving the consumer packaged goods industry.

The Role

As an Inventory Planner, you will help ensure the right products are available at the right time, in the right location, and in the right quantity across Grove’s assortment. This role is centered on replenishment planning for a large-SKU, direct-to-consumer business operating across two fulfillment centers.

The team is specifically looking for someone who is comfortable using AI-enabled planning tools as a core part of the job. You should be able to work with automation thoughtfully, know when to trust model outputs, and know when human judgment should override them. Experience handling complex inventory planning at scale is important, especially in a fast-moving eCommerce environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage demand-based replenishment by reviewing forecasts and placing inventory orders that support sales, turns, and in-stock objectives across a broad product assortment.
  • Use AI-driven forecasting tools to turn demand signals into practical replenishment decisions, while applying manual judgment when needed.
  • Maintain supplier settings and replenishment rules in planning and ERP systems for the assigned vendor group.
  • Investigate forecast outliers and improve forecast quality and bias through data-backed adjustments.
  • Track inventory KPIs and take action to correct performance issues.
  • Create and update reports in Looker, Excel, and AI-based analytics tools that lead to recommendations, not just summaries.
  • Work with Merchandising and Marketing to reduce aged inventory and shape sell-through strategies.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure replenishment orders and forecasted commitments are executed.
  • Partner with Billing and Accounting to resolve invoicing and receiving mismatches.
  • Monitor purchase orders from submission through EDI confirmation and receipt at fulfillment centers.
  • Recommend inventory transfers between warehouse locations based on demand patterns and fulfillment data.
  • Continuously improve planning systems, data quality, and operating processes.
  • Identify and test AI and automation opportunities such as anomaly detection, automated reorder triggers, and scenario modeling, then share successful approaches with the team.

Requirements

  • 4 to 6 years of experience in inventory planning and procurement within a DTC or digitally native eCommerce business, with success managing a large and fast-moving assortment.
  • Practical experience with demand planning tools such as Relex, Toolio, Anaplan, or similar platforms.
  • Strong working knowledge of AI applications in inventory planning, including demand sensing, automated replenishment, anomaly detection, or scenario planning.
  • Advanced Excel skills are required.
  • Looker experience, or experience with a comparable BI platform, is strongly preferred.
  • Proven performance against inventory measures such as in-stock rate, turn, weeks of supply, forecast accuracy, and aged inventory reduction.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convert planning insights into clear actions for Merchandising, Marketing, Finance, and Operations partners.
  • A self-starting approach with a strong bias toward continuous improvement and independent execution.
  • Preferred experience includes managing inventory across multiple warehouse or fulfillment center locations.
  • Additional advantage if you have worked with EDI processes and ERP systems in a physical products business.
  • Exposure to AI-supported scenario planning or automated exception handling at scale is a plus.
  • Interest in sustainability and better-for-you products is beneficial and helps inform the work.

What’s in It for You

  • This is a full-time, exempt, remote role for candidates located in California, Maine, Pennsylvania, Nevada, North Carolina, Texas, Colorado, Washington, Illinois, New York, Missouri, or Massachusetts.
  • Medical, vision, and dental coverage are offered.

  • Flexible paid time off is available.
  • Employees receive a free VIP membership and a 50% discount.
  • You will join a company driven by the belief that a small team can make a meaningful positive impact through products and planet-focused initiatives.
