About the role

ForthCo is focused on long-term ownership of strong mid-market New Zealand businesses. Rather than short-term investing with a quick exit in mind, the firm looks to acquire quality companies and stay involved for the long haul. This role sits at the centre of that approach.

The company is seeking a Senior Investment Analyst / Investment Manager to work directly on transactions and remain engaged with the businesses once they are owned. The opportunity is aimed at people who want to move beyond advisory work and into real ownership, where decisions have a direct impact.

If you have spent two or three years in a Big Four firm or consulting and are looking for work that creates tangible outcomes rather than presentations that change little, this could be a strong fit.

What the role involves

• Supporting investment decisions across deals and opportunities
• Working closely with the businesses that ForthCo owns
• Contributing to a long-term ownership strategy focused on patient capital
• Helping identify and assess good mid-market Kiwi businesses

Experience and mindset required

• Ideally, two to three years of experience in Big Four accounting or consulting
• Comfort working on both transaction work and operating businesses
• A practical, ownership-focused mindset rather than a purely advisory one
• Ability to think critically about NZ businesses and explain investment rationale clearly

Compensation and growth

Pay is aligned to market rates, with meaningful upside tied to strong performance. There is also genuine scope to grow as the business expands.
