Role Overview
Radiance Technologies is looking for an early-career Junior Data Analyst to support the Advanced Trade Analytics Platform (ATAP) for U.S. Customs and Border Protection. In this remote U.S. role, you will collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and government stakeholders on analytics, reporting, machine learning support, and decisions tied to mission outcomes.
This position is a strong fit for someone aiming to grow technical capability while contributing to work that supports national security and trade enforcement.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and practical insights.
- Assist with data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
- Help build, test, and roll out analytical tools and software solutions.
- Prepare data used for analytics, reporting, and machine learning work.
- Support data scientists and analysts with research, modeling, and related analytical tasks.
- Create reports, dashboards, and supporting technical documentation.
- Carry out data quality checks and validation activities.
- Look for ways to improve processes and increase automation.
- Share analytical results with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Take part in Agile ceremonies and team-based collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Information Systems, Analytics, or another quantitative field closely related to these areas.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in analytics, business intelligence, data science, statistics, computer science, operations research, or a similar discipline.
- A master’s degree in a related field may be used in place of the required experience.
- Working knowledge of analytics, statistics, data visualization, and databases.
- Comfort with programming or scripting languages commonly used in analytics settings.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication abilities.
- Capability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
- High attention to detail and a willingness to learn new technologies.
Preferred Background
- Experience supporting federal, DHS, CBP, defense, intelligence, or law enforcement programs.
- Exposure to Python, SQL, R, Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics platforms.
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts and methods.
- Experience working with large datasets and reporting solutions.
Security Requirements
- An active Top Secret clearance is required.
- You must be able to obtain and keep access to DHS and CBP systems and facilities.
