Junior Mechanical Engineer

Role overview

Mastertech Group is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to support mechanical works on construction and building services projects in Greater Dublin. The role focuses on coordinating design information, maintaining quality and compliance, and helping drive site delivery across multiple project stages.

Key responsibilities

• Apply practical knowledge of building construction, maintenance, associated services, and relevant building regulations and guidance.
• Make sure specifications and drawings are fully aligned before and during delivery.
• Prepare project documentation, including technical submittals, information requests, and other supporting records.
• Help ensure project quality by producing and maintaining the required QA documentation.
• Work closely with main contractors and consultants to support mechanical design coordination and manage interactions with other disciplines.
• Use digital systems to monitor documentation, progress, and project status.
• Oversee subcontractor activity to confirm that work is progressing in line with expectations and agreed guidelines.
• Take part in site meetings, walkdowns, and handover activities.
• Promote strong health and safety practices and maintain compliance with company procedures and legal obligations for safe construction.

Requirements

• A degree in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Prior experience working in construction.
• Good communication skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
• Computer proficiency, including the ability to produce reports and complete required paperwork.
