About the role
Momentum Works is looking for early-career people who are sharp, inquisitive, and ready to see how important decisions are made across Asia’s digital economy. This role is designed to help you grow into an operator, builder, or leader with practical experience that is valued across the ecosystem.
This is not a typical graduate programme. It is closer to an apprenticeship focused on judgment. Over about two years, you will contribute to live projects with experienced operators and work across flagship reports, advisory work with founders and investors, executive immersion programmes across Asia and beyond, and Momentum Works Intelligence.
There is no simulated training environment here. Learning happens through direct work.
Why this role now
Momentum Works has evolved significantly in recent years. The company has built respected research products, a trusted network of founders and investors, executive immersion programmes spanning Asia and beyond, and Momentum Works Intelligence. The next stage is about expanding its products, community, and influence across the region and further afield. By joining now, you would help shape what the business becomes over the next decade.
What you will do
- Contribute to real assignments from the first week, including research, advisory work, immersions, and MWI initiatives.
- Develop independent viewpoints and be prepared to defend them, while also being open to challenge.
- Use AI as a practical amplifier, while still applying human judgment to spot when outputs are unreliable or mistaken.
- Engage directly with senior operators, investors, and founders and communicate confidently with them.
- Travel from time to time across Asia for research work, client-facing engagements, and immersion programmes.
What the role offers
- Ownership and responsibility from the outset
- Guidance from experienced operators
- Exposure to founders, executives, and investors at senior levels
- A steep and rewarding learning curve
- Access to an alumni network that remains valuable well after you move on
You will get out of this experience what you put into it.
Who the team is looking for
The company is not assessing candidates on degree, GPA, or familiarity with specific tools. The main expectation is that you are genuinely curious about AI and already exploring it on your own. Tools can be taught; curiosity cannot.
The central capability being hired for is judgment — the thing AI cannot replace.
- You are deeply interested in how Asia’s digital economy really functions.
- You can form a viewpoint and are willing to revise it when evidence shows you should.
- You question claims rather than accepting them at face value, including the company’s own statements.
- You are a bit unconventional and can laugh about it.
People who tend to thrive here
- People who keep asking one more question
- People who are comfortable when things are unclear
- People who can think for themselves
- People who change direction when facts change
- People who prefer building to only analysing
People who may not fit
- Those who want a very structured corporate career path
- Those who need step-by-step instructions before acting
- Those who value internal politics more than real substance
How to apply
Do not send a cover letter, as it will not be reviewed. Instead, write around 200 words explaining one belief about Asia’s digital economy that you think is true but most people misunderstand. AI may be used to help shape your answer if you wish; the focus is on your thinking, not polished writing. Send your response to the provided company email address.
