Role overview
This full-time onsite opportunity in Tyrone, GA is for a Manufacturing Estimator focused on creating accurate and competitive pricing for machining, fabrication, stamping, and welding work. The position offers a salary range of $65,000 to $90,000.
The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with technical information, numbers, and cross-functional teams to translate drawings and specifications into practical cost estimates that support project success.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare precise cost estimates for machining, fabrication, stamping, and welding jobs.
- Study engineering drawings, models, and specifications to identify material, labor, and process requirements.
- Determine manufacturing approaches, routing sequences, setup and run times, and tooling needs.
- Build comprehensive quotes that include materials, outsourced services, and lead times.
- Partner with engineering, production, and purchasing teams to confirm cost assumptions.
- Communicate with customers to understand project details and schedule expectations.
- Keep estimating templates, quote records, and cost databases organized and up to date.
Experience and qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in estimating or manufacturing engineering.
- Prior exposure to metal stamping, machining, fabrication, or welding environments.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T accurately.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing methods and the factors that influence cost.
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD tools is preferred.
- Understanding of outside processing such as plating, coating, and heat treating is an advantage.
- Knowledge of material utilization, nesting, or multi-step estimating is helpful.
- Experience with post-job cost review and continuous improvement is a plus.

This position requires close coordination with multiple internal teams as well as direct communication with customers. The work centers on disciplined estimating, technical interpretation, and maintaining reliable quote data to improve consistency over time.
