Role overview
You will work as a Mechanical Engineer Expert, evaluating technical content for accuracy and quality. The work is contract-based, remote, and compensated at $90 per hour.
Key responsibilities
- Examine mechanical engineering problems, worked solutions, and explanations to confirm they are accurate, complete, and methodologically solid.
- Spot mistakes, unclear assumptions, and missing steps, then provide feedback that is specific and well supported.
- Use a consistent review approach across areas such as statics and dynamics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, mechanics of materials, and machine design.
- Align judgments with established quality standards so that reviews remain dependable and consistent.
- Help uphold a high technical bar across all content that you assess.
- Work on your own schedule, independently and asynchronously, while meeting deadlines and improving the quality of technical material.
Required qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline is required.
- You should have a strong grasp of core mechanical engineering principles and be able to solve problems rigorously from first principles.
- You need excellent attention to detail and the ability to catch subtle technical issues.
- Clear written communication is important, especially when explaining why a solution is correct or incorrect.
- You must be comfortable working independently and applying structured review criteria consistently.
Preferred background
- A master's degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- Previous exposure to technical review, grading, tutoring, or quality assurance is an advantage.
