Role overview
This position is based in Central London and requires five days a week in the office. The employer is a fast-moving, expanding recruitment business with an international presence, a highly ambitious team, and a strong focus on collaboration and performance. The company hosts more than 80 events each year and is seeking an organised, proactive Operations & Events Manager to keep the office running efficiently and to support a packed events calendar.
In this role, you will sit at the centre of business operations and event delivery, helping everything from technology and onboarding to internal culture initiatives run without issue. It is a practical, varied position for someone who enjoys a busy environment, welcomes change, and can work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Take ownership of the day-to-day running of the business, covering office administration, technology coordination, and supplier management.
- Plan and manage event operations end to end, including venue research, budgeting, supplier liaison, travel booking, guest communication, and delivery on the day.
- Support the onboarding of new joiners by preparing equipment, system access, training plans, and welcome activities.
- Contribute to employee engagement, culture-building activities, and wellbeing initiatives across the organisation.
- Review and enhance internal processes, systems, and overall operational effectiveness.
- Oversee internal communication and help maintain smooth office logistics.
- Provide administrative and operational assistance to the leadership team.
- Monitor event spend and budgets to support efficiency and return on investment.
What the employer is looking for
- At least 4 years of experience in an operations or events-focused position.
- Background in a sales-led business is preferred; experience in recruitment would be an added advantage.
- Very strong organisational skills and a high level of accuracy.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong interpersonal ability.
- Experience in a client-facing or customer-facing role.
- Ability to manage several deadlines and priorities at the same time.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including the confidence to challenge or push back when needed.
- A proactive mindset, positive attitude, and strong problem-solving approach.
