Panelmatic is hiring a Painter to prepare, coat, and finish metal surfaces used in custom control panels and related components. The role focuses on surface preparation, application of industrial coatings, and delivering clean, accurate finishes that meet quality expectations.

Key Duties

  • Clean parts and surfaces by washing or soaking them to remove grease, rust, scale, and dirt.
  • Prepare metal surfaces and operate coating equipment to apply paint, lacquer, varnish, enamel, oil, or rust-preventive finishes.
  • Use brushes, spray guns, sanders, and rollers to ready surfaces and complete painting work.
  • Blend chemicals and paints, fill tanks, and adjust viscosity, thinner, and other mix components as needed.
  • Check coating flow and thickness visually or with a viscometer to confirm finish quality.
  • Set spray guns, adjust nozzle direction, and control air pressure to ensure proper atomization and coverage.
  • Read prints and design information to confirm the correct paint colors.
  • Strip, sand, mask, and repaint surfaces, then blend and polish finishes so repaired areas match surrounding sections.
  • Apply foam insulation and undercoating when required.
