Purchasing Officer

Job purpose

We are looking for a Purchasing Officer to oversee sourcing, buying, and stock control for raw materials, packaging, and other supplies used in perfume manufacturing. The role is focused on keeping costs controlled, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring materials arrive on time so production runs without interruption.

Key responsibilities

• Procure fragrance oils, essential oils, alcohol, bottles, caps, pumps, cartons, and other packaging items needed for production.
• Research, assess, and shortlist suppliers within Saudi Arabia and overseas to secure the best mix of price, quality, and dependability.
• Discuss and finalize commercial terms with vendors, including pricing, payment conditions, and delivery timelines.
• Work closely with production and R&D teams to estimate future material needs.
• Follow company procurement procedures and make sure all purchased items meet required quality expectations.
• Keep well-organized purchasing records, such as supplier details and past pricing data.
• Monitor purchase orders and follow up to make sure deliveries happen on schedule.
• Keep track of market movements and identify new suppliers in the perfume and cosmetics raw materials space.
• Manage import paperwork and coordinate with logistics partners when customs clearance support is needed.
• Partner with the finance team to arrange supplier payments and sort out any billing or invoice mismatches.

Qualifications and experience

• A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a similar discipline is required.
• At least 2 to 4 years of purchasing experience, ideally in perfumes, cosmetics, or FMCG manufacturing.
• Good understanding of fragrance ingredients and packaging components.
• Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
• Comfort using ERP platforms and MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Solid analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
