Recreation Supervisor

Role overview

This role supports a lively, safe, and welcoming recreation environment for hotel guests. The supervisor helps plan and publicize activity programs, keeps recreation areas organized, and ensures guests can enjoy facilities and events with proper guidance and care.

Key duties

• Design activity schedules and promotional materials using publishing tools.
• Track stock levels for equipment, materials, and supplies, and alert the manager when items run low.
• Invite, register, and organize guests for recreation programs and activities.
• Help create an enjoyable, relaxed atmosphere for guests and members.
• Share information about the available recreation spaces, services, and events.
• Enforce recreation rules and safety standards to protect guests and members.
• Monitor activity areas and respond to incidents according to local procedures, including emergencies.
• Identify guests who may not be fit to participate safely and escalate concerns to a supervisor or manager.
• Provide first response support to injured guests until medical help arrives.
• Keep recreation equipment and supplies clean and in good working order.
• Support management in training, coaching, and motivating team members by setting a strong example.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, and complete any required safety training and certifications.
• Follow company standards, maintain a professional appearance, protect confidential information, and safeguard company property.
• Address guest needs proactively, including assisting guests with disabilities.
• Communicate clearly and professionally, answer phone calls with proper etiquette, and maintain positive working relationships.
• Handle customer transactions or orders when needed and collect payments appropriately.
• Maintain quality standards and suggest improvements that can strengthen service quality.
• Read and verify printed or digital information carefully, inspect equipment for defects, and use computers or POS systems to record and locate work-related information.
• Perform physically active work throughout the shift, including standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, twisting, and moving through narrow, uneven, slippery, or elevated areas.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

The position is intended for candidates with a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of relevant work experience, and at least 1 year of supervisory experience. Required certifications include CPR and First Aid, along with recreation and fitness equipment-related certification or training, plus any additional licenses or training required by local or state authorities.
