About the Role
This opportunity is with a global analytics firm seeking a Research Analyst / Business Systems Analyst to support client work focused on consumer intelligence and industry benchmarking within North American wealth management. The position centers on helping deliver strategic insights for external clients through proprietary diagnostics and investor survey research across the United States and Canada.
You will work on the analysis, delivery, and ongoing development of the company’s products, with particular attention to firm-level wealth management performance measures and consumer research. A major part of the role involves partnering with client leaders to gather information, assess results, and turn findings into clear recommendations on competitive standing.
As you progress, you are expected to take on greater ownership of product direction, including shaping market positioning, improving client value, and contributing ideas for innovation. The role suits someone who thinks like a consultant, is comfortable working deeply with data, and can also present insights with confidence to senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Work with large and complex datasets, clean and validate information, run primary research, and build performance benchmarks.
- Convert analytical findings into persuasive business stories and present competitive insights directly to client executives.
- Contribute to the long-term roadmap for proprietary diagnostic products and identify ways to improve and differentiate them.
- Handle several projects at once and maintain strong quality and timeliness in a fast-moving setting.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in data analysis or business systems analysis, preferably in banking, financial services, or management consulting; experience with wealth management strategy is especially valued.
- Strong command of Excel and PowerPoint is essential; experience with data refinement and VBA is an advantage.
- Deep ETL, SQL, or Python expertise is not required, as the emphasis is on strategic analysis and presentation rather than technical development.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills, along with a polished executive presence and the ability to defend data-backed recommendations with leadership.
- An applicable university degree is required.
Perks and Benefits
- Competitive base pay with a variable annual bonus.
- RRSP contributions, benefits coverage, and an annual learning and development allowance.
- 25 days of annual leave, plus 4 wellness days and public holidays.
- Flexible hybrid working arrangement, usually 2 to 3 days per week in the office.
- Office located within walking distance of Union Station.
