The business is expanding quickly while operating in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. This role is based in Sydney and sits within the sales team.
Role Overview
The Sales Development Representative will report to the Sales & Marketing Manager and focus on creating new business opportunities. The role involves reaching out to schools across Australia, New Zealand and parts of Asia, building relationships with decision-makers, and arranging discovery meetings for Account Executives.
This position suits someone who enjoys outbound prospecting, cold outreach and relationship-building, and who wants to contribute to the education sector while growing toward an Account Executive career path.
Key Responsibilities
- Run targeted outbound campaigns using phone calls, email and LinkedIn outreach to source sales opportunities from schools in Australia, New Zealand and Asian international markets.
- Lead discovery conversations to learn about prospect needs, pain points and decision-making processes.
- Set up qualified meetings between prospective customers and Account Executives.
- Represent the company at education events, conferences and expos to create leads and increase brand visibility.
- Follow up with warm leads from marketing activity and incoming enquiries.
- Research target schools and identify the right decision-makers within the ideal customer profile.
- Keep prospect data accurate and current in HubSpot CRM.
- Work closely with the sales team to improve outreach approaches and messaging.
- Consistently work toward monthly goals for booked meetings and pipeline contribution.
- Share market feedback and prospect insights with the marketing team.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is energetic, motivated and curious, with a strong interest in outbound sales and continuous improvement. You should be comfortable working in a performance-focused environment and able to stay resilient when facing rejection.
Experience and Skills
- 1 to 2 years of experience in sales, outbound prospecting or another client-facing role.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed targets in a results-driven setting.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to quickly build rapport.
- Confidence and persistence when handling objections or rejection.
- Strong research ability and close attention to detail.
- Familiarity with CRM or sales tools; HubSpot is an advantage but not mandatory.
- A coachable attitude and eagerness to learn and improve.
- Interest in technology, SaaS and the education industry.
