Role Overview
EDB is hiring a Sales Development Representative in Singapore for candidates who are Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents. In this role, you will help uncover and qualify sales opportunities across South Asian markets using a consultative, entrepreneurial approach. You will partner closely with Account Executives to help expand PostgreSQL adoption. The position reports to the SDR Director, APJ and may require occasional travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Run inbound and outbound prospecting efforts to identify and qualify new sales opportunities in Singapore.
- Build, qualify, and nurture leads using a consultative sales style.
- Work with Account Executives to shape strategies that support PostgreSQL adoption across the assigned markets.
- Use prospecting platforms such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, 6sense, TechTarget, and ZoomInfo.
- Contribute to EDB’s growth goals in the Singapore region.
- Consistently work toward and surpass sales opportunity generation targets.
- Represent a mission-led organization focused on open-source database innovation.
- Support collaboration within a high-performing, encouraging, and innovative team.
- Help strengthen PostgreSQL adoption across the region.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an SDR or BDR in South Asian countries.
- Strong command of both English and Mandarin is required; Cantonese would be an added advantage.
- Primary coverage will include ANZ, Singapore, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.
- Strong outbound and inbound prospecting mindset with a hunter-style approach.
- Genuine interest in technology, especially open-source solutions.
- Experience in databases, SaaS, or cloud environments is strongly preferred.
- Exposure to public sector or enterprise accounts is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated success using prospecting tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, 6sense, TechTarget, ZoomInfo, and Salesloft.
- Self-driven, target-oriented, competitive, and able to work well with others.
- Strong organizational ability and time management skills.
