The position also involves helping manage training calendars, preserving training records, assessing trainees, and ensuring alignment with ICAO, CAA, and airport-specific standards.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport response actions during aircraft-related emergencies by following standard procedures and directions from ARFF leadership, with attention to firefighter safety and effective suppression activities.Assist in handling fire alarms, aircraft incidents, and other emergency situations as assigned by the Duty Manager.Carry out regular patrols and site inspections to identify hazards and safety concerns across airport premises, while remaining prepared to respond quickly during duty hours.Help conduct pre-flight checks of ARFF vehicles and firefighting assets to confirm they are fully functional and ready for immediate deployment.Support the upkeep and replenishment of firefighting tools and personal protective equipment so they remain dependable for operational use.Flag equipment issues and assist with minor repair or maintenance tasks; ensure emergency kits and firefighting gear are stocked and serviceable.Take part in recurring drills and practical exercises to strengthen firefighting capability, emergency response readiness, and team coordination.Keep current with ICAO, CAA, and airport safety requirements, and assist the Duty Manager in conducting exercises with internal and external stakeholders.Help coordinate shift rosters and ARFF staffing arrangements.Communicate with internal teams and external vendors on matters linked to ARFF operations.Maintain an orderly, clean, and fully functional ARFF station environment that supports emergency preparedness.Support senior staff in gathering data on response times, training sessions, and equipment upkeep.Maintain operational logs and shift records for reporting purposes.Assist in drafting incident reports and maintenance documentation.Ensure SOP compliance and retain records required for audits and regulatory reviews.Follow all safety procedures during operations, drills, and equipment handling, with priority given to personal safety and team safety.StakeholdersInternal: Duty Manager - ARFF, Airport Operations Team, Airport Security, Emergency Medical Services, ARFF Crew Members, Engineering & Maintenance Team, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Team.External: Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Local Fire Services Departments, Civil Aviation Authorities, ARFF Equipment Manufacturers/Service Providers, Industry Associations, Educational Institutions, and Insurance Companies.RequirementsDiploma in Fire Science, Aviation Safety, or a closely related discipline.ICAO Firefighter certification is required.First Aid / CPR qualification is required.3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in aircraft rescue and fire fighting operations.Additional InformationThe position is based in Guwahati, Assam, India and is a full-time on-site role.
