Shared Site Training Controller

About the Role

AB InBev Africa is looking for a Shared Site Training Controller to help build and maintain a strong learning culture for Level 1 and Level 2 teams. The purpose of the position is to support brewery performance by making sure employees gain the skills and competence needed to perform effectively.

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct practical training for shop-floor teams.
• Spot opportunities where learning or upskilling is needed.
• Support the development and supervision of apprentices.
• Coach and mentor Level 1 and Level 2 teams on VPO and operational training initiatives.
• Prepare, update, and maintain training records and related documentation for assigned areas.
• Handle Level 1 SKAP administration, including keeping personnel records current and accurate.
• Plan departmental SKAP assessments and ensure the assessment schedule is followed.
• Measure how effective training programs are and report on outcomes.
• Help create foundational work practices and contribute to SOP development.
• Guide Team Leaders, PEST, and Level 1 teams in applying VPO practices correctly.
• Coach Level 1 teams in using the right problem-solving approaches and tools.
• Assist with drafting and improving Standard Operating Procedures.
• Use a maintenance background to support site training needs where relevant.
• Identify skill gaps, training needs, and suitable development interventions.
• Understand and manage training budgets and training delivery requirements.
• Support the transfer of learning from training into day-to-day performance.
• Source and coordinate appropriate training solutions and resources.
• Capture and maintain accurate training data.
• Act as a coaching resource for the site performance and management process, covering both quantity and quality.

Required Skills and Attributes

The role calls for strong communication, a collaborative mindset, confidence in facilitation, and a genuine interest in developing people. The successful candidate should also demonstrate self-management, analytical thinking, and solid interpersonal skills.

Minimum Requirements

• A relevant tertiary qualification and/or a formally recognized qualification in training and development.
• Advanced computer literacy, especially in MS Office.
• At least 3 years of experience in an FMCG manufacturing setting.
• Exposure to, and preferably direct experience in, a training environment.
• Ability to deliver a range of learning and coaching solutions.
• Confidence when engaging with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
• Knowledge of the Skills Development Act and other related legislation.
