About the Company

Partao is creating a worldwide marketplace dedicated to heavy-machinery parts. The platform brings buyers and sellers together in one place and now covers more than 2,000 brands and over 5 million SKUs. Its goal is to make part sourcing quicker, more intelligent, and more dependable by helping users locate the exact match for their machine.

The team emphasizes doing the important things well from the start. The focus is on building something practical, valuable, and durable. If you are excited by a fast-moving environment and want to help shape a marketplace with global reach, this role offers that opportunity.

About the Role

The Sourcing / Procurement Analyst will take ownership of one of Partao’s most important workflows: Find My Part. The position is at the core of the marketplace and is responsible for sourcing parts that customers cannot easily locate elsewhere, including highly specific items, backordered parts, and products not yet available through current suppliers.

This is a highly hands-on position for someone with several years of experience in sourcing or procurement who is ready to manage their own scope with minimal supervision. You will make sourcing decisions independently, maintain and grow a supplier network, and continuously improve how the function operates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of the Find My Part pipeline by locating hard-to-source customer requests through trusted vendors or by identifying and bringing new suppliers on board.
  • Develop supplier pipelines that provide dependable coverage across categories and reduce dependence on single-use sourcing efforts.
  • Work directly with suppliers to negotiate cost, delivery timing, and commercial terms to achieve the best possible outcome for each request.
  • Evaluate supplier quotations by weighing price, turnaround time, and reliability, then decide on the most suitable option.
  • Build and oversee an expanding supplier network within your assigned category.
  • Partner with Customer Service to keep customers updated and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Ensure the data related to suppliers and orders in your area remains accurate and high quality.
  • Identify repeat demand patterns and convert one-off sourcing into repeatable supply.
  • Handle supplier onboarding and maintain supplier records so the database stays current and dependable.
  • Suggest and help roll out improvements to sourcing, supplier validation, and fulfillment processes for difficult-to-find parts.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in procurement, sourcing, category operations, or a commercial operations function.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, supply chain, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Confidence in negotiating with suppliers and raising direct commercial questions.
  • A strong approach to problem-solving and a sense of ownership when the answer is not immediately clear.
  • Commercial awareness and genuine interest in pricing, lead times, and supplier trade-offs.
  • Comfort with spreadsheets and analytical work to support sourcing and negotiation decisions.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple requests at once with little oversight.
  • Strong written and spoken English; knowledge of a European language is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-moving startup setting.

Bonus Points

  • Background in procurement, sourcing, or category operations support.
  • Experience with marketplaces, e-commerce, or B2B platforms.
  • Interest in or exposure to mechanical, industrial, or technical products.
  • Comfort discussing commercial details with suppliers and asking challenging questions.
  • Skill in recognizing repeat request patterns and turning them into reusable supply.
  • Preference for action, learning, and iteration over waiting for perfect instructions.
  • A goal of progressing into a full Category / Vendor Manager role in the future.

Why Join Us?

  • Help define the data foundation of a rapidly growing B2B platform.
  • Work with real operational data that has a direct impact on customers every day.
  • Join a compact, high-caliber, globally distributed team.
  • Take ownership of important decisions and contribute from day one.
